Engagement

So it has been just over a month since my best friend asked me to marry him.... by all means it wasn't the romantic knee drop we all see in movies and dream of as little girls, and there was definitely no crying or photos even! What it was was pure and true to his simple nature. Tuesday, 28 June 2016 - 2 days before our 5 year anniversary I had been asked out on a date, which was strange for 2 reasons. Broccoli and Bacon Salad

So this past weekend I had my orienteering clubs annual AGM and awards lunch. As per tradition each family brings either a pudding or salad depending on their surname. As we had twice as many pudding people, my family opted to do 2 salads. For those who know me know I have a sweet tooth and avoid salads like a plague. My mom and I agreed she would do one salad and I would do another. Put thinking cap on AKA browse pinterest for inspiration, and voila created a salad actually so nutritious and yummy I would make it again just for myself, plus it is relatively easy to make which is a huge bonus. Ingredients: 2 Broccoli head 1 Packet diced bacon (lean is preferred) 1 Cup Chickpeas 1 Cup Almond Flakes 1 Avocado Method: Boil broccoli, ensuring it is cooked but not too soft and soggy Drain broccoli and put to the side to cool Cook diced bacon Add bacon to the broccoli Move broccoli and bacon into a large bowl Add chickpeas and almond flakes Cut avo into small cubes and a
